Autumn Term 2 - Week Four - Friday 28th November 2025

No Mr Ken - Monday 8th December (PM only)

Mr Ken will not be on duty on the afternoon of Monday 8th December. In his absence, we ask that children are, where possible, escorted over the crossing by their accompanying adult.

Please take extra care when crossing the road (and if driving, when commuting and parking) in his absence, helping to keep our children and community safe.

Parent Forum

Following the recent Parent Forum, we are delighted to share the most recent Parent Forum Meeting Minutes (Autumn 2025).

For those who missed the parent forum, we will be holding further sessions throughout the academic year. Should you have any urgent points or concerns you wish to raise, please email adminoffice@hordle.hants.sch.uk.

Christmas Mobiles Homework - Due in Monday 1st December!!

Please be reminded that your finished Christmas mobile masterpiece must come in to school on the morning of Monday 1st December at 9am so that it is ready to be displayed in the hall for the start of advent.

This is not a compulsory project but is a wonderful Hordle tradition for everyone! Have fun creating!

Please ensure all mobiles are labelled and clearly named so that they can be returned at the end of term.

Have fun, Team! We are looking forward to a spectacular display in the hall again this year.

Lower Junior DT Project - Volunteers Needed!

As part of the Lower Junior Textiles DT unit, the children will be designing and making their own Christmas decoration.

On Thursday 18th December, Team Ash, Oak and Hazel will spend the morning sewing their decoration.

For this, we would be very grateful for any parents/guardians who are able to give up their time to help stitch, sew and work with groups. ???

The sewing session will be from 9:00am - 12:30pm but we would be extremely grateful for any time that you can give us during this session.

Please note, whilst it would be preferable that you already have a DBS as a classroom volunteer, it is not essential on this occasion.

Thank you very much for your continued support.

A Message from the School Council

This week, Team Hordle proudly took part in UK Parliament Week joining thousands of schools across the country in learning more about democracy, representation and how our active voices help shape the future. We explored how Parliament works, took part in activities that encouraged debate and critical thinking and discovered the many ways young people can get involved in our local, and wider, community. It was a great opportunity to celebrate and demonstrate our five British Values!

Please check out the links below or head to our school’s Facebook page to discover more…

Join us for a Musical Performance at Drop Off - Friday 19th December

To celebrate the last day of the Christmas term, the recorder/percussion club will be performing on Friday 19th December, from 8:40am and during drop off.  The recorder club will also be joined by some of the brass, flute and piano pupils.

For all performers, please can we ask that you come to the Acorn room by 8.20am, so you are ready to perform at 8:40am, as everyone arrives.

We recommend warm clothing for both performers and families watching as we will be performing on the decking.

Administration of Medication

If you know that your child will require Calpol on any given day, please ensure that you provide it to the school office and ensure that the morning dose is given before 8am to enable us to administer again at 12 noon.

Please can we remind families that any medications, including prescription medications are administered at midday. Please consider this when administering medications before school starts to ensure that sufficient time between doses has been applied.

Christmas Lunch Payments

If you have opted for a cooked Christmas lunch on Wednesday 17th December, please can we kindly ask that you make payment if you have not done so already.

This will need to be paid via your child's Scopay account and can be found under 'products' in the bottom right corner.

Please note, this is applicable for those families who have opted for a cooked lunch, not packed lunch.

Christmas lunch slots have now been emailed out to families.

School Games Santa Dash

The countdown is on for one of the most joyful events in the School Games calendar - the National Santa Dash, taking place this year on Friday 12th December.

This is already a Christmas Jumper day but children are also welcome to bring Christmas themed headwear with them on the day should they wish.

This event will be happening during the school day and during your child's daily mile time.

Hub Club End Dates

Please be advised that all Hub and Peri Clubs will be running until Friday 12th December.

There will be no clubs running during the last week of term.

Churchyard Pathway

We respectfully remind you that all users of the pathway through the Churchyard, take full responsibility for themselves while on Church property.

Learning Reviews Feedback

Thank you for attending the recent Learning Reviews. We are keen to hear your thoughts on the face-to-face format. Your feedback will help us understand your preferences and guide how we run Learning Reviews in the future.

Please take a moment to complete this short survey.
