Autumn Term 2 - Week Four - Friday 29th November 2024

We are currently seeking to fulfil 2 parent governor vacancies. The tenure of Mrs Claire Crook (current parent governor), is due for renewal and whilst Mrs Crook remains happy to continue to serve as a governor, we are recruiting an additional parent governor to join our Governing Body.

The regulations for governor vacancies prescribe that the position is advertised to all parents and we welcome all applications.

If you would be interested in reading more about the role or for details on how to apply, please click here.

Deadline for applications: Friday 6th December 2024, 12noon

Important Notice - Last Minute Changes to Pick Up

Please can we remind families that should there be a last minute change to your child's pick up for the specific day after midday, to call in to the office.

Whilst we usually do pick up the emails, the adminoffice@hordle.hants.sch.uk account is not monitored 24/7 and so we may not be aware of any last minute changes.

Thank you for working with us to safeguard the children.

Hub Club Price Increase

Please be advised that as agreed by governors in July 2024, the Hordle Hub Club rates, for all internal clubs ran by the school, will be increasing from £3.50 per week to £4 per week from 1st April 2025.

Breakfast Club and After School Club rates will be staying the same and will be reviewed again by Governors in April 2025. We will advise of any changes in due course, should there be any.

Christmas Mobiles

Please can we remind parents that Christmas mobiles are due into school on Monday 2nd December.

Upon arrival to school, please can all Christmas mobiles be taken directly to the hall and placed carefully on the stage.

Please ensure all Christmas mobiles are named so that they can be reunited with the correct families at the end of term.

More information on this can be found on the 25/10/2024 Newsletter, please click here..

***

Christmas Tree Decorating

Children are invited to bring a bauble or other tree decoration (suitable for outdoors) to hang on our school Christmas tree.

Please ensure all baubles are named so that they can all be reunited with the correct children at the end of term.

Whilst the tree is being decorated, our wonderful school Choir will be singing their favourite carols to you all (all families with children in the Choir should have received separate comms confirming arrival time directly).

***

Christmas Post Boxes

Christmas post boxes will now be available in each phase across the school. All children are welcome to simply bring their Christmas cards into class (please don't forget to name the envelopes and ideally add the child's class where possible) and they will be delivered to each class by our team of elves!

***

Friday 6th December - Santa Dash

Children will be taking part in the annual School Games National Santa Dash on Friday 6th December. All children are invited to bring in a Santa hat should they wish.

Please note, this is for children only and will take place throughout the school day.

FS/KS1 Nativity Tickets

All FS and KS1 Nativity Tickets have now been sent to your child's class and will be coming home with children today.

All requests for standard tickets and additional tickets have been met and allocated.

Unfortunately, as we are now at capacity for all shows, we are unable to accept any amendments.

The children have been working so hard with their rehearsals. We hope you enjoy the show!

Friday 20th December - Last Day of Autumn 2 (1pm finish)

Parents are strongly advised by the Government and Local Authority to avoid taking children out of school in term time because of the disruption it causes to their education.

Following the update to the Penalty Notice Framework, Miss Trim has kindly put together a helpful leaflet to outline the important changes and how the penalty notice system will work. The leaflet can be found here.
