Hot Weather Guidance

Due to the ongoing warmer weather hot weather, please may we ask parents/guardians to ensure the following:

• Send your child to school with a named sun hat

• Make sure sunscreen is applied to children before school (application of a `Once' type cream provides your child with adequate protection throughout the day)

• Give your child a water bottle (named) - it is also important that children remain hydrated throughout the day, so if your child is having a packed lunch, please make sure you enclose a drink bottle in their lunchbox, as well as giving them one for the classroom

• For children who are having a packed lunch, please pop in an ice pack to keep their lunch cool

•  As children are likely to be removing their jumpers more frequently, please ensure they are clearly named

Keyboards for Sale!

We still have a few keyboards available at school for families to purchase for a small donation to the school (we kindly request a minimum donation of £10).

Please be aware that some keyboards do have some stickers and writing on the keys. Whilst they may not be in the best condition, they would be a good starter kit for anyone who has recently started or is potentially thinking about starting taking up the keyboard.

If you would be interested in purchasing one of our keyboards, please email adminoffice@hordle.hants.sch.uk to arrange a convenient time to collect.

Please note, keyboards will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.

IMPORTANT UPDATES - Transition From Scopay to Arbor

From September, we will be moving bookings and payments for trips, Breakfast and After School clubs, Hordle Hub clubs and lunches from Scopay to Arbor.

In preparation for this, please can we ask parents to ensure that Scopay accounts are kept up to date with no excessive credits and that debts are promptly cleared over the next few weeks.

***

Arbor Transition Update Communication

Please click HERE to read our next instalment of updates and information regarding the transition to Arbor Parent Portal.

We will continue to communicate further details regarding the upcoming changes and advise you of any outstanding balances on current Scopay accounts.

***

Arbor Parent App

If you have not already registered for access to the Arbor Parent App it is essential that you are able to access this from September. Please email the school office if you require assistance with this.

***

Updating Parent/Emergency Contact Details

We also recommend using this as a time to ensure all contact details are correct on your child's Arbor profile. It is essential that we have up to date contact details for parents/guardians and any emergency contacts listed on your child’s pupil file. This is our safeguarding duty.

If you change contact details or move house please update your details via the Arbor App. We require proof of address for any change of address records.

Please note, if you have more than one child attending Hordle Primary School and Nursery, any changesd made to one profile will not automatically apply to any siblings and so you will need to ensure you update both profiles accordingly.

Thank you for your support in ensuring our records are kept up to date.

***

Medical, Dietary and Other Important Updates

For any further updates needed for children's profiles, e.g. medical or dietary, please email adminoffice@hordle.hants.sch.uk who will be more than happy to help.

***

Thank you for your consideration of this in the coming weeks as we head towards the end of the school year.

'Book with Legs' Donations

We are thrilled to see how popular our 'Book with Legs' initiative has been amongst our families. Due to it's high demand, our shelves are currently looking rather empty.

We kindly ask for any further donations families may have of any pre-loved books for Year R - Year 6 children.

If your child has recently borrowed from 'Book with Legs' and has now finished their book, we kindly ask that these are returned to school for the next person to enjoy.

Green Fingered Volunteers Needed!

Do we have any green fingered parents/grandparents who would like to volunteer their time to help spruce our flower beds and help with some weeding?

On this occasion, volunteer clearance (including DBS) is not required but is preferred if possible.

If you are able to help, please either send us an email to adminoffice@hordle.hants.sch.uk or come in to the school reception to discuss.
