Spring Term 2 - Week 5 - Friday 27th March 2026

Staff News

We are sad to announce that Mrs Gibbons is leaving us this week to embark on her retirement after an amazing 25 years of service at Team Hordle.

Mrs Gibbons has been a huge part of the Early Years phase team during her career at Hordle and was a pivotal part of the original team to set up our very successful nursery.

We will miss Mrs Gibbons hugely but we wish her the very best for her thoroughly deserved retirement and we look forward to seeing her back for visits!

We are delighted to announce that Mrs Knight will be joining the Upper Junior team as a Teaching Assistant after the Easter holidays. Mrs Knight brings with her a wealth of school experience and we know she is going to be a wonderful addition to the team. Thank you for making her feel welcome.

Scopay Balances - Important Information - Please Read

We are currently experiencing high levels of debt across dinner money, Breakfast and After School Club, which is taking a lot of administrative time to follow up and manage.

Please can we politely remind parents that dinner accounts should be kept in credit if your child has school lunches and Breakfast and After School Club bookings should be paid for in advance of taking place.

Please can we ask all families to check Scopay accounts and pay all outstanding balances up to and including 27th March. There is no need to pay for anything for Summer term until after the Easter break.

From Summer term, if debts exceed £10 on your child's account, we may have no option but to refuse bookings at Breakfast and After School clubs, or refuse to provide hot lunches, until accounts are settled.

Weekly emails are sent to advise of any outstanding balances but please can we remind parents that it is your responsibility to check your child's account and update payments accordingly.

If you are experiencing financial difficulty and wish to discuss a payment plan for any costs relating to school, please request a confidential meeting with Mrs Rook, School Business Manager.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

A message from Hampshire Libraries: Free Forest Forge Theatre Production at Hampshire Libraries in the Easter Holidays

We have the fabulous Suitcase Stories with us again this year – you may recall Jack and the Beanstalk from last year.

A Storyteller arrives at the library, carrying everything she needs to tell the story, of a girl called Abena who has to leave Ghana with her family.

They travel on a boat to England and come to live in Southampton. Abena goes to school and learns how to fit in, however she misses her home in Ghana. The Nightjar bird shows her the New Forest and helps her understand that she can have two homes in her heart.

This is a free event for children and there is no need to book, but we do expect this event to be popular, so please arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Hopefully we shall see lots of you at the event.

Best wishes,

Hampshire Libraries

(There has been a mistake on the Ringwood date, it should read Wednesday 8th April.)
