Ofsted Inspection Framework Update - A Guide for Parents/Guardians

We know that many of you will be aware from the news and media that Ofsted
has recently changed its inspection framework.

Horde CE Primary School was last inspected in February 2022 and therefore
we are aware that we will likely have an inspection in the coming months.

THIS leaflet has been created to help you as parents understand some of the changes in inspection and grade reporting.

If you seek any further clarification, please email adminoffice@hordle.hants.sch.uk and we will be more than happy to help.

Parent Forum - Monday 23rd March

We will be running our next Parent Forum on Monday 23rd March at 9:00am in the Acorn Room.

This is an opportunity to express your views/make suggestions for our Senior Leadership Team on any matters relating to school. This could include (but is not limited to) curriculum, school activities, uniform, trips and school events.

We would love to see as many of you there as possible. In order to prepare for this event, please complete the form on the link below with your suggested topics for discussion:

Parent Forum Discussion Topics

Please can we ask that questions posed for discussion at the Parent Form are broad in nature and not specifically related to your child. These questions are best answered by your child's class teacher who will be happy to discuss them at a mutually convenient time. Please email them directly in the first instance.

Even if you cannot attend on the day but you wish for a particular subject to be discussed, please complete this form and give us as much information as possible.

All families are welcome to attend and/or provide feedback/suggestions using the link above.

We look forward to welcoming you.

Spring Term 2 Breakfast Club and After School Clubs

Please be advised that Breakfast Club and After School Club sessions are now available to book (and spaces are filling fast!) for Spring 2 until the end of the academic year. We strongly advise making your wrap around childcare in advance, at your soonest convenience.

If you cannot book due to lack of availability, please email theden@hordleprimary.co.uk and we will do our best to accommodate.

We kindly remind parents that if your child is booked in to Breakfast Club and requires breakfast, your child must be dropped in to school before 8:30am.

***

If your child is due to attend Breakfast Club but will not be attending

If your child will not be attending their booked Breakfast Club session, please can we ask that you contact the school office at your soonest convenience to confirm the reason for absence. This is a safeguarding matter and must be adhered to.

***

Please note, bookings need to be paid in advance of the session taking place. You are able to book in all sessions in advance. These bookings do not need to be paid for at the time of booking but each session must be paid for before it takes place.

Updated Pick Up Protocol Form

Further to the amended online pick up protocol form, we wish to inform families of a further change to eliminate any confusion.

If you are updating the list of authorised adults to collect your child(ren), we kindly request that you please list ALL ADULTS who are authorised to collect, any time you wish to make a change.

The newest pick up protocol form submitted will supersede any previous pick up protocols.

We hope that this helps eliminate confusion over who had previously been on your list and who you wish to add/remove.

A message from Hampshire County Council Road Safety Team - In Car Safety Leaflet

The Road Safety Team are responsible for educating young people and their families on the importance of keeping safe when travelling in a vehicle. Part of this education includes ensuring young people are travelling with correct restraints.

One of their key road safety messages is about every vehicle occupant being safe and from various sessions with primary and secondary aged pupils, they are discovering that not all young people understand the importance of wearing seatbelts and/or using car seats when necessary.

Are you aware that 37% of children are in the wrong type of seat for their age and/or height?

With this in mind, and with an increase in the number of children injured when travelling in vehicles, the Road Safety Team would like to share this car restraint leaflet with you to ensure you know how to always keep your child(ren) safe – in the correct restraint. There are also hints and tips about choosing the right seat, transporting other people’s children and how to fit different types of car seat. To read this informative leaflet, please visit –In Car Safety Guide

Thank you for helping us to keep your children safe.

Please remember that costumes do not need to be expensive and can be created at home using what you already have. Please find some 'dressing up' ideas/solutions from World Book Day here.
