Autumn Term 1 - Week Four - Friday 3rd October 2025

Home School Agreement

At Hordle CE (VA) Primary School, we are proud to be a Church of England school where out Christian vision to "live life, life in all its fullness" underpins everything we do.

We are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and nurturing learning environment where every child is given the opportunity to thrive – developing as a lifelong learner with strong personal values, open and enquiring minds, and the confidence to become a global citizen of the future.

This Home/School Agreement outlines the essential partnership between the school, parents/guardians, and pupils. Working together, we aim to realise the full potential of every child.

Please can all parents read and share with your child (if they are in Y3-Y6) and complete the relevant form/s below to confirm that it has been read by Friday 3rd October 2025.

***

Sibling Photographs

If your children all attend Hordle Primary School (this does NOT include children who attend the Nursery settings), they will be photographed together throughout the day.

If your child has a sibling who does not attend Hordle Primary School, family pictures will begin at 8:10am. We ask that you arrive promptly if you wish for your children to be photographed together. Please enter via the main school gates, where you will be directed into the hall. Please ensure you are in the queue by 8:30am at the latest. Parents are responsible for their children until they are dropped to class at 8:45am.

If your child has a sibling who attends Hordle Explorers Nursery and you would like them photographed together, please come to the school hall for 8:10am.

Please note, if you have HEN and School siblings in Breakfast Club, you can still drop off as usual - they will be photographed together.

Numbots and TTRS!

We’re excited to remind you about Times Tables Rockstars and Numbots, two excellent online platforms designed to support your child’s maths learning in a fun and interactive way!

Times Tables Rockstars helps children master their multiplication tables through exciting games and challenges, while Numbots focuses on building solid foundations in addition and subtraction skills. Both platforms are fantastic for boosting your child’s confidence and fluency in maths, and they are easily accessible from home!

***

How to Use Times Tables Rockstars and Numbots at Home:

♦ Log in regularly: Just 5-10 minutes a day on each platform can make a big difference. Consistency is the key to building strong maths skills.

♦ Play together: Engage with your child by playing along, setting challenges, and celebrating their progress.

♦ Track progress: Both platforms provide feedback on your child’s improvement, helping you see how much they’re growing.

***

Why It's Important

Mastering times tables, addition, and subtraction is fundamental for many areas of maths, from problem-solving to understanding fractions and beyond. Quick recall of these facts helps children tackle more complex problems with confidence, both in school and in real-life situations, like shopping or handling money.

By making learning fun through Times Tables Rockstars and Numbots, we can ensure your child builds a solid mathematical foundation, preparing them for future success.

Every child has a log on for these platforms and we look forward to sharing with you, each week, the progress and engagement.

Thank you for your continued support in making maths enjoyable and rewarding for your child!

Gifts for Buddies

We know that our Year 6 Buddies are enjoying getting to know their FS Buddies - it has been wonderful to see their friendships blossom. However, please can we respectfully ask for buddies to not exchange gifts of any sort to ensure fairness and inclusivity for all.

Thank you for your cooperation.
