New Staff Starter

We would like to formally welcome Miss Arnold to Team Hordle. Miss Arnold has joined us as the class teacher in Team Hazel.

Thank you for giving her a warm welcome to our school and community.

Home School Agreement

At Hordle CE (VA) Primary School, we are proud to be a Church of England school where out Christian vision to "live life, life in all its fullness" underpins everything we do.

We are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and nurturing learning environment where every child is given the opportunity to thrive – developing as a lifelong learner with strong personal values, open and enquiring minds, and the confidence to become a global citizen of the future.

This Home/School Agreement outlines the essential partnership between the school, parents/guardians, and pupils. Working together, we aim to realise the full potential of every child.

Please can all parents read and share with your child (if they are in Y3-Y6) and complete the relevant form/s below to confirm that it has been read by Friday 3rd October 2025.

We wish to invite you all to our annual Macmillan Coffee Afternoon on Friday 26th September.

As always, we cannot do this without you. In order for our coffee afternoon to be a success, we need as many cakes, pastries and biscuits as possible. If you are able to bake for this wonderful cause, please complete this form so we know how many to expect.

We welcome all types of cake (nut free), biscuits and/or pastries, either homemade or shop bought. We are so grateful for any donations.

We hope to welcome you all between 2:30pm - 3:30pm, on Friday 26th September, to join us in enjoying an informal coffee and cake, raising money for this truly worthy cause.

If you are unable to join us before pick up, any cakes remaining will be sold at 3:25pm outside the hall.

(Please bring change with you as we will be selling cakes for a small donation).

Thank you for your support.

Activity Passports and Lexicon Awards

For any completed Activity Passports or Lexicon Awards for last academic year (2024/25), please ensure these are handed in to the office no later than Friday 26th September.

Breakfast Club Non-Attendance

If your child is booked to attend Breakfast Club but is not attending for any reason, please can we ask parents to either call the school office or email admin.office@hordle.hants.sch.uk to advise us for safeguarding reasons.

Thank you for supporting this important safeguarding matter.

School Uniform

Please make sure your child arrives ready for the school day dressed in the full school uniform, unless it’s their PE day or they attend a sports Hub Club - they should then be wearing their Hordle PE kit.

We have seen an increase in branded items being worn to school, and in some cases, very short skirts/shorts being worn, too.

As a reminder, children should wear the following school uniform:

• Dark grey classic trousers (no leggings), dark grey pinafore dress, dark grey skirt (with pleats), dark grey shorts;

• White blouse/shirt or polo shirt;

• Navy V neck sweatshirt with school logo;

• Navy gingham dress (Summer term only);

• White or grey socks or tights;

• Black trainer-style school shoes or black shoes (boots are not permitted).

Children should wear the following PE kit:

• Hordle PE top;

• Hordle Hoodie (alternatively plain navy or black warm PE top);

• Navy shorts/navy skort (plain navy or black leggings can be worn underneath shorts and skort on colder days);

• Plain navy or black jogging trousers/leggings;

• Black trainers.

Any children who are wearing earrings MUST supply their own earring tape or we will ask children to remove their earrings. We cannot supply earring tape.

Please include coat, hat and gloves as the weather begins to turn cold.

Please ensure all uniform and personal items are clearly labelled.

We cannot take responsibility for lost items. However, for any lost property which is handed in and named, we ensure it is returned to the correct children.

For all of our new families who have joined the school this term, our lost property bin can be found outside the school hall. For more valuable items, such as glasses, these will be kept safely in reception.

Please can we also ask all parents to double check that all uniform that they have is definitely theirs as we have had a number of jumpers go missing.

Thank you for your ongoing support with this.

Administration of Medication57,370,660 Medication Stock Illustrations | DepositPhotos

If you know that your child will require any medication, including Calpol, on any given day, please ensure that you provide it to the school office and ensure that the morning dose is given before 8am to enable us to administer again at 12 noon.

All medication brought in to school needs to be clearly named and handed in to reception in the morning, along with a completed Administration of Medication Form (printed copies are available in the reception).

Please note; if you have brought any medication to school and your child has finished the course, we kindly ask families to please collect any remaining medication left at school.

-  You can view your child's attendance records

- You can update personal details including relevant emergency contact information

- All of our consent forms are now online and so you do need the Arbor App to be able to provide consents for your child
