Summer Term 2 - Week Six - Friday 11th July 2025

Happy Summer!
Dear All,
It’s hard to believe that I am sitting here writing the end of year newsletter - it seems like only yesterday the black gates were opening on another fresh start back in September.
As always, the children of Hordle have, once again, been simply fantastic and given their all to every aspect of life in school. Whether it is competing in Sports Day or working hard on their maths, holding the door open for visitors or raising money for charity in their spare time, they’ve shown us what incredible children they all are. I am genuinely honoured to have simply the best children in Hampshire and I am proud of each and every one of them!
As the year comes to a close, we will be saying farewell to our Year 6s, and we wish them all the very best in their new and exciting chapters of life. These final days in primary school are always filled with a mixture of emotions. It will be sad to say goodbye yet we know you have exciting futures ahead of you and we look forward to hearing from you in the future!
I can’t miss this chance to say a phenomenal thank you to my team. They go above and beyond each and every day, without question, and always put the children at the heart of every decision that they make. I am constantly inspired by the determination of my team, by their passion and enthusiasm to make Hordle a better place and their creativity and resourcefulness in exploring feasible solutions! I am honestly privileged to lead such a supportive and hard-working team.
To our families - thank you. Your support, your trust and your passion for the school shine through. You make a difference to Hordle and to how much your children enjoy their time here.
Wishing you all a happy and restful summer.
Miss Trim

The Smartphone Free Childhood is a grassroots movement bringing parents together to stand up for healthier, happier childhoods. It is a pact to avoid giving children smartphones until they reach the age of 16. It's not about keeping them away from phones, just preventing the ability for them to have the internet and social media apps at their fingertips 24/7. We know that some of the concerns from parents are around their child feeling that they are left out, which is why we're hoping we can get a real push in the Hordle community to encourage parents to think about alternatives to smart phones, when they decide it's the right time to buy their child a phone.
