Summer Term 1 - Week Three - Friday 9th May 2025

IMPORTANT NOTICE - SAT's Reminder - Monday 12th May - Thursday 15th May inclusive

With it being SAT's week next week, we wanted to remind our Y6 families that it is essential that your child is in school from Monday 12th May - Thursday 15th May inclusive, for their standardised tests.

In the event of illness, please contact the school as soon as possible so that we can work with you to find a solution.

Please ensure children are in school and make their way to BADGER CLASSROOM* no later than 8:20am for the SAT's breakfast. This is a great opportunity to calm nerves and start each day positively.

*Due to a change in schedule, please be aware that the SAT's breakfast will now be taking place in Badger Classroom.

Good luck to all of our Y6 pupils! We know you will all do your very best.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - Breakfast Club for Monday 12th May - Thursday 15th May Inclusive

Communications were sent last week, advising of a change of location for breakfast club.

Due to a change in schedule, Breakfast Club will now resume as normal, taking place in the School Hall for all YR - Y5 pupils during SAT's week.

Please drop your child(ren) to the School Hall as usual.

Breakfast Club for Nursery children remains unchanged.

Our apologies for any confusion.

NO Year 5 Tuesday Maths Magic Club Next Week - Tuesday 13th May

Please note, due to SAT's there will be NO Year 5 Tuesday Maths Magic club next week.

The club will resume as normal from Tuesday 20th May onwards.

As per email communications sent on Thursday 8th May, please either bring your child to school at 8:45am as normal. Alltnertively, if a Breakfast Club place is needed, please book via your child's Scopay account. Places are limited and booked on a first come, first served basis.

School Drop Off/Collection Parking Reminder

Please do not park or pull up on the yellow zig zag outside school at any time.

Please can we remind parents and carers to be considerate when parking at drop off and pick up times on roads surrounding the school.

Please ensure that you only park on public roads and never block access to someone’s property or create an obstruction to the emergency services.

For those needing to cross the road, to further support Mr Ken in keeping you all safe, please can we ask that all parents use the crossroads to cross, not walk across the road directly outside school.

For parents/guardians wishing to complain of parking offences, please contact our local PCSO HERE, including photos where necessary.

Thank you for helping keep our children, families and community safe.

Administration of Medication

If your child requires Calpol (or any other medication) on any given day, please ensure that this is given before 8am to enable us to administer it again, ir required, at 12 noon on the medication round.

If your child needs Calpol or any other medication throughout the school day, this must be provided to the school office at drop off, ensuring that it is named, in date and that an 'Administration of Medication' form has been completed.

We kindly ask that all families provide their own daily medication as the school has only a limited supply for emergency use only.

Walk with Wheels Week - Monday 19th - Friday 23rd May

Walk with Wheels Week takes place during National Walking Month each May to encourage pre-school children, parents, carers and staff to walk, wheel, scoot or cycle, for all or part of their journey, each day they attend their setting. The week-long initiative is designed to encourage and establish healthy habits. Travelling actively can not only help families achieve their daily level of recommended physical activity but is also shown to increase both physical and mental wellbeing. With time to talk and share quality time as a family, it is a great way to start and finish the day.

There are competitions for both our school and the children, with fantastic prizes to be won! Our school could win a balance bike with helmet, a set of children’s waterproofs or an outdoor learning kit. For the children, prizes include a scooter, a balance bike or a family day out. Both competitions are fully funded by the UK Government.

We love to see your photos - please send any pictures of you and your child participating to jessie.james@hordleprimary.co.uk.

Equality Survey

As a school we are constantly striving to do our best for all pupils and to support their parents/carers whenever possible. This includes our duty under the Equality Legislation.

To help us do better, we are consulting with all our families in an effort to identify those pupils who belong to particular religious, cultural or ethnic groups and may therefore require further adaptation to enable them to enjoy full access to school life.
