Spring Term 2 - Week Three - Friday 14th March 2025

KS1/Outdoor Toilets

Please can we remind parents that under no circumstance, should you be entering the KS1/Outdoor Toilets at any time of the day. These toilets are for children only, even outside core school hours.

Bag2School - Monday 17th March

Help our school raise funds by donating your unwanted, quality items!

Team PATCH have organised our first Bag2School collection of the year for Monday 17th March.

Bags can be dropped off to the front school car park from the afternoon of Friday 14th March (or over the weekend) and no later than 9am on Monday 17th March.

Please place the bags under the provided tarpaulin to protect all clothing from the rain. This is extremely important as wet clothes will not be collected and unfortunately, we will be forced to dispose of them

As well as clothing, Bag2School also accepts items such shoes, hats or bags. For a full list on what you are able to donate, please click here.

Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support!

Whole School Parent/Guardian Drop Ins - Wednesday 26th March

We wish to invite all parents/guardians to our drop in session on Wednesday 26th March, from 3:25pm - 4:55pm.

*****

Drop Ins Book Sale!

We are pleased to advise that we are reintroducing the small book sale during Parent Drop In sessions. Our wonderful book sale will be located in the library and has been organised internally by our staff, so we hope we have hand chosen books for children from all years to enjoy. Families will have the opportunity to purchase books at a very discounted rate of £3 per book.

Please ensure you bring small change with you!

Elsie's Rose Cake Sale

We are delighted to share that a new cake sale record has been set and last Friday, Team HEN raised an astonishing £205.70 for Elsie's Rose.

Thank you so much to all who baked or provided cakes, to volunteers and staff for helping run and to all of our families for your donations.

We know this will help make a difference to the families who need the charities support.

Foundation Stage Learning Reviews are Live!

Learning Reviews for Team FS will take place virtually again this term, between Monday 24th March and Thursday 3rd April.

Please see the below schedule for class specific dates/times.

Teacher Class Date Time
Mrs Riley Ladybirds Monday 24th March 3:00pm - 5:00pm
Mrs Riley Ladybirds Monday 31st March 3:00pm - 6:00pm
Mrs O'Connor Bumblebees Wednesday 2nd April 3:00pm - 5:30pm
Mrs Nicholson Bumblebees Thursday 3rd April 3:00pm - 5:30pm

We will once again be using SchoolCloud which acts as a platform for hosting our online virtual Learning Reviews. This allows you to choose your own appointment times with teachers and you will receive an email confirming your appointments - please do keep a note of your appointment time but just in case, you will receive a reminder notification on the day.

Bookings will be open from today, Friday 14th March until Thursday 20th March at 1pm, when the system will close.

As learning reviews are in place to benefit your child(ren)'s learning, we strongly encourage parents/guardians to book a learning review.

Please click here to access the booking system to book your child's appointment.

Please note, the system will only allow you to book one appointment per child. If you wish to invite one additional parent to join the meeting virtually, you may do so by following these instructions. We highly recommend reading the instructions and watching the short video guide, so you know how to use the system and to familiarise yourselves with what will happen on the day.

For split families, if you are having problems booking an appointment, please email Miss Blatch in the office (lauren.blatch@hordleprimary.co.uk) who can assist further.

Additional Info:

Timeslots on the day are managed automatically by the SchoolCloud system and are therefore strictly limited to your allotted time.

At the end of your Learning Review the session will automatically end, this cannot be manually overridden.

Please ensure that you log in giving yourself time to test your camera and audio so that you have the maximum time with your child's teacher.

Bookings are made via Schoolcloud. You will receive a booking confirmation, as well as a subsequent, on the day reminder from Schoolcloud directly.

Please make a note of your child's date/time as we are very restricted with appointment availability, should you miss your review.

Y1 - Y6 Class, Choir and Leavers Photos -

Thursday 27th March

We are pleased to announce that class photographs will be taking place on Thursday 27th March during the school day.

As per the separate communications sent, Team FS will have their class photos on Tuesday 25th March.

Important points to note:

Children must wear full school uniform - if they have PE or attend an after school sports club on this day, please send their PE kit into school with them in a named bag.

The Choir photograph will be taken at 9am- if your child attends this club please ensure they arrive at school in good time.

Proofs will be sent home with the children as soon as we receive them and ordering and payment will once again be online.

Arbor App - IMPORTANT

The Arbor Parent App allows you to update your child’s personal details from your mobile phone or tablet, ensuring that we always have your most up to date contact details. This is essential for the safeguarding of our children and we do require 100% sign up from parents of children in Year R to Year 6.

Using the app, you can also check your child’s attendance and we hope in future to introduce increased functionality.

For details on how to use and set up the app please click HERE

We would like to remind parents/guardians of the term dates for the next couple of months.

Monday 24th February - First Day of Spring 2

Friday 21st March - INSET Day

Friday 4th April - Last Day of Spring 2

Parents are strongly advised by the Government and Local Authority to avoid taking children out of school in term time because of the disruption it causes to their education.

Following the update to the Penalty Notice Framework, Miss Trim has kindly put together a helpful leaflet to outline the important changes and how the penalty notice system will work. The leaflet can be found here.

INSET Days 2025/25

We are pleased to publish our INSET days for 2025/26. As you know, we continue to work hard to improve attendance at Hordle CE Primary School and wish to remind families that, in line with guidance, term time holidays will not be authorised.

However, we have been mindful to place INSET DAYS on Mondays and Fridays, allowing for three days weekends and we are also pleased to share that we have scheduled one for Friday 5th December, allowing families to arrange for any Christmas celebrations on this day.

INSET Day Dates 2025/26

• Wednesday 3rd September

• Monday 3rd November

• Friday 5th December

• Monday 5th January

• Friday 20th March

We trust that having these dates in advance will be useful in booking to make the most of family time together where possible.
