Autumn Term 1 - Week Six - Friday 11th October 2024

Individual and Sibling Photos

As a reminder, if your child was absent for the school photo session this week, we will be running a catch up for absentees on the morning of Wednesday 23rd October.

Autumn Learning Reviews are Live!

Learning Reviews for all year groups will take place virtually again this term, between Monday 4th November and Thursday 7th November.

Please see the below schedule for class specific dates/times.

We will once again be using SchoolCloud which acts as a platform for hosting our online virtual Learning Reviews. This allows you to choose your own appointment times with teachers and you will receive an email confirming your appointments - please do keep a note of your appointment time but just in case, you will receive a reminder notification on the day.

Bookings will be open from today, Friday 11th October until Wednesday 23rd October at 9pm, when the system will close.

As learning reviews are in place to benefit your child(ren)'s learning, we strongly encourage parents/guardians to book a learning review.

Please click here to access the booking system to book your child's appointment.

Please note, the system will only allow you to book one appointment per child. If you wish to invite one additional parent to join the meeting virtually, you may do so by following these instructions. We highly recommend reading the instructions and watching the short video guide, so you know how to use the system and to familiarise yourselves with what will happen on the day.

For split families, if you are having problems booking an appointment, please email Miss Blatch in the office (lauren.blatch@hordleprimary.co.uk) who can assist further.

Additional Info:

Timeslots on the day are managed automatically by the SchoolCloud system and are therefore strictly limited to your allotted time.

At the end of your Learning Review the session will automatically end, this cannot be manually overridden.

Please ensure that you log in giving yourself time to test your camera and audio so that you have the maximum time with your child's teacher.

Bookings are made via Schoolcloud. You will receive a booking confirmation, as well as a subsequent, on the day reminder from Schoolcloud directly.

Please make a note of your child's date/time as we are very restricted with appointment availability, should you miss your review.

Please be reminded that we are a NUT FREE school

Please be aware that we have children in school who have severe nut allergies, that require epipens if they come into contact with nuts.

We would like to remind parents to double check all packed lunch items/snacks, ensuring that they do not contain nuts.

This includes Nutella, desserts such as Battenburg and Bakewell, hummus and many cereal bars - please check ingredients before adding to your child’s packed lunch.

Breakfast Club / Den Bookings

PIf you require your child to attend Breakfast or After School Club, please ensure you have booked all required days on your child's Scopay account.

Breakfast Club is fully booked on many dates this term, so please check Scopay before you arrive to ensure your child is due to attend that session.

We cannot guarantee we will be able to accept your child on the day, without a booking.

Thank you for your support in this matter.

Den and Dinner Debt

Please can we ask that parents/guardians ensure that payments for dinners and any Den bookings are paid in advance.

There should be no debts run up on your accounts, which should always be kept in credit.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Car Seat Safety

The Hampshire County Council Road Safety Team are responsible for educating young people and their families on the importance of keeping safe when travelling in a vehicle.

Part of this education includes ensuring young people are travelling with correct restraints. Are you aware that 37% of children are in the wrong type of seat for their age and/or height?

The Road Safety Team would like to share this car restraint leaflet with you to ensure you know how to always keep your child(ren) safe – in the correct restraint. There are also hints and tips about choosing the right seat, transporting other people’s children and how to fit different types of car seat. To read this informative leaflet, please visit – In Car Safety Guide

Joe Wicks Cash Pot for Schools

Team PATCH have registered Hordle Primary School as part of the Joe Wicks 'Cash Pot for Schools' initiative.

It is very simple to be a part of:

1. Download the Asda Rewards app Sign up for Asda Rewards and download the app on your smartphone. Opt into the Cashpot for Schools campaign through the app and watch your Cashpot start to fill up as you shop.

2. Choose your school Nominate a specific primary school to donate to or select ?Schools Most in Need'.

3. Shop in store across Asda and George, or online at Asda.com Asda will donate a percentage of your shop to your chosen school each time you shop with them. You'll also earn Pounds in your Cashpot across star products and missions that will go towards your own shops in the future.

4. Asda does the rest The money raised will be donated to schools to spend on what they need most, including books, tech or sports equipment. This is in addition to your own Cashpot; you won’t lose out on any of your earnings on your Asda Rewards app, so everyone is a winner!

Please click here for more information.

The initiative will run until 30th November 2024!

Walktober 2024

We are taking part in Walktober 2024!

As we head into Autumn, it’s important that we all keep active and where possible, get outdoors. To encourage this, the My Journey Team at Hampshire County Council has invited schools to celebrate International Walk to School Month by taking part in Walktober.

This event is designed to inspire pupils, families and staff to travel actively and sustainably throughout October.

If you wish to participate, there is a Walktober competition for your child to enter. Over the month of October, pupils are required to complete a minimum of six activities (they can do more if they wish). Pupils can choose from the suggestions list or be creative and think of their own activity, too! The Walktober Activity Card's are stored in the office, please help yourself.

We hope as many of our pupils, families and staff as possible can get involved by walking, wheeling, cycling, scooting, using Park and Stride and public transport more often.
