Summer Term 2 - Week 7 - Friday 17th July 2026

Wishing you a wonderful summer!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As we come to the end of another school year, I wish to say a heartfelt thank you to our community for your ongoing support across another academic year.

I am delighted to say it has been a year of some significant accomplishments. Earlier this year, we were awarded the Global Neighbours silver award and in recent months, we have achieved Let’s Think partnership school status, the Science Quality Mark and our Platinum Sports Mark for a phenomenal sixth year in a row.

I am also proud to share that our results this year are amongst some of our highest ever, with 100% of pupils passing their Year One phonics screening check, our highest ever MTC results and incredible SATs results for our Year 6 pupils.

None of this would be possible without the relentless efforts of the entire staff team, the children and the support of our wider community.

And plans are already underway for another exciting year in 26 - 27. First on the list is a new building for Team Wild (our 3 - 4 year old nursery setting) following a successful application for a grant provided by Hampshire County Council. Building works will commence over the summer holidays with more information to follow in the autumn term.

In the meantime, I wish to thank my team for their unwavering dedication to all things TEAM HORDLE. You are truly an inspiration! Thank you for going above and beyond for the children of our local community every day.

May I wish you all an incredible summer holiday when it comes. May you rest, recuperate and make some wonderful memories with your children.

Best wishes,

Miss Trim

Headteacher

Updating Parent/Emergency Contact Details

We also recommend using this as a time to ensure all contact details are correct on your child's Arbor profile. It is essential that we have up to date contact details for parents/guardians and any emergency contacts listed on your child’s pupil file. This is our safeguarding duty.

If you change contact details or move house please update your details via the Arbor App. We require proof of address for any change of address records.

Please note, if you have more than one child attending Hordle Primary School and Nursery, any changesd made to one profile will not automatically apply to any siblings and so you will need to ensure you update both profiles accordingly.

Thank you for your support in ensuring our records are kept up to date.

***

Medical, Dietary and Other Important Updates

For any further updates needed for children's profiles, e.g. medical or dietary, please email adminoffice@hordle.hants.sch.uk who will be more than happy to help.

Thank you for your consideration of this in the coming weeks as we head towards the end of the school year.

The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme is back for summer 2026!

Free childcare, food, and activities for FSM children.

More than 190 HAF schemes will be running across Hampshire this summer,
each offering a variety of fun activities and tasty meals for children and young
people who receive benefit-related free school meals (FSM).

For summer 2026 onwards,a new central booking system has been introduced,
making it easier for families to find and book HAF activities.

This includes built-in eligibility checking, so parents/carers no longer need to use
the previously issued HAF codes when making bookings. Families can visit the Hampshire HAF booking page to find local schemes and register their interest.

http://www.childrenscommissioner.gov.uk/thebigfuture

Dame Rachel de Souza, The Children's Commissioner, has contacted us again due to a low response rate from our school, wanting to hear from children aged 0–18 from every background, in every part of the country, and your support will help make that possible.
