Team KS2: A Visit From Kerrie Carpenter at The Parliament Education Department

We were delighted to welcome Kerrie Carpenter from the Parliament Education Department to Team Hordle to teach our KS2 children about what the Houses of Parliament are.
We are incredibly proud to have been selected as one of just 30 schools out of 4,000 to receive this special visit!
During a fantastic assembly, Kerrie helped our children develop their understanding of Parliament and democracy. She explored:
What Parliament is and how it differs from the Government.
How to contact their local MP and make their voices heard.
The difference between the House of Lords and an MP.
What a constituency is and why it matters.
The children had a wonderful opportunity to learn more about how our democracy works and how they can play an active role in shaping the world around them.
This visit was particularly special as it was Kerrie’s last-ever assembly! She was hugely impressed by Team Hordle’s engagement, enthusiasm and behaviour. What a fantastic reflection of our school and our children!
A huge thank you to Kerrie for sharing her knowledge and inspiring our pupils. We are honoured to have been chosen for this visit and look forward to an exciting Parliament Week in November.
