Prior to the Easter break, Team Ash thoroughly enjoyed their D.T unit. They were given the following problem to solve: A squirrel keeps stealing Mr Polmeer's lunch. Design an alarm system that will warn Mr Polmeer when the squirrel is near.

Some children designed and made a prototype of the school grounds placing a secret alarm near the fence. If the squirrel stepped on it, an alarm would sound. Others designed and made an alarm system for Mr Polmeer's lunchbox. If the squirrel opened it, an alarm would sound!

The children found fitting their electrical circuit fiddly and tricky but they should amazing resilience and teamwork to overcome this. Well done, Team Ash.
