Special Guest, Councillor Jack Davies

To kick start UK Parliament Week, on Monday we were delighted to welcome Councillor Jack Davies in to Team Hordle.
Cllr Davies spoke to the children about the work he carries out in our local community. From organising bus timetables to improving our local parks, Cllr Davies has achieved it all! He also briefly spoke about his time as Mayor of Lymington.
His visit provided a fantastic real-life example of the British Values that we promote every day. Pupils learned about democracy in action, the importance of rule of law, and showed great mutual respect as they listened and asked some fascinating questions.
After the talk, our School Council had the exciting opportunity to meet with Cllr Davies directly. They asked Cllr Davies some thought provoking questions such as "What is the most difficult part of your job?" and "What interested you in becoming our local Cllr?" The School Council also discussed issues important to them and explored how individual liberty and student voice can make a positive difference in our local and wider community.
We are incredibly grateful for the time, encouragement and inspiration given to our young learners today. Thank you, Cllr Davies!
