It was a joy to gather as a community and celebrate this meaningful moment together. Thanks to Phil, the vicar, for hosting and joining us for this special worship.

All Saints, Hordle

The children arrived dressed to the nines, tickets in hand, ready to wave off their parents and “board” the Titanic through their classroom doors. Once onboard, they carouselled through each class, experiencing life across the decks – from first class deck games, to second class life drawing, and third class Irish dancing, card games and even a refreshing glass of apple juice!

In the afternoon, we were delighted to welcome parents into our “museum” to explore artefacts and celebrate the children’s fantastic learning. Thank you so much for coming along and sharing in the pride – the children’s work truly was amazing.

The children incorporated the use of perspective, complementary colours and nature to create a bold, vibrant watercolour and pastel forest scene.

Back in the classroom, they concluded the unit with an evaluation on the impact of rivers on people.

They worked together and completed a fair test by scratching each rock with a nail five times. Afterwards, they used their observation skills to see if the rock scratched or crumbled and grouped them accordingly. Why not ask your child what they found out!

They then used the items they found to create nature-inspired artwork, producing some thoughtful and creative pieces. A lovely afternoon of teamwork, curiosity and creativity outdoors

“Books with Legs” has now been set up in a special area of our school library! This project gives unwanted or pre‑loved books a new lease of life by passing them on to children who will enjoy them at home. There’s no need to scan them out — simply choose a book with a ‘Books with Legs’ sticker and take it home to read. By re‑using and recycling books in this way, we’re helping reduce waste while making sure every home has access to stories to share.

We kindly ask that children return the books once they’ve finished so they can continue their journey to another reader. Together, we can help protect our planet and make reading accessible to all.

We hope this initiative spreads a love of reading through our community and brings many stories into many homes. Happy reading, children — enjoy giving these books their next adventure.

Some pupils pushed their projects even further by integrating our Crumble computing kits, programming lights and controlled rotation using algorithms. 💻

Please can we kindly remind families to bring loose/exact change and that money is kept in a named purse/wallet and handed in to their class teacher each morning. 

Children heard a true story written for children by Michael Rosen and Benjamin Phillips all about courage and survival during the Holocaust.

The children then joined in a reflective prayer all about guidance and love.

From drawing and early letter formation to sharing ideas and proudly talking about their work, the children showed just how writing begins in Early Years — building strong foundations through play, confidence and having fun together

To say we are overjoyed is an understatement!

I would like to thank my entire staff team for their relentless pursuit of excellence. To our incredible children and our highly supportive community, thank you for all you do to engage with us and help our children thrive.

They worked brilliantly in teams, showing real teamship, carried out fair tests, and used their findings to draw thoughtful conclusions.

Roary the Lion returned to school this week with his trademark energy - and yes, he treated us to another one of his brilliant raps all about the power of great attendance!

He revealed which teams have reached Roary Legend status and which classes are soaring above the 96% power line. The excitement in the hall was incredible.

We also celebrated all of the children with top attendance, giving them a huge round of applause - and some even earned a High Five from Roary himself!

Roary has left us with an important mission: to take great care of Roary Jnr each week. He’ll be back very soon to announce which classes have kept their attendance strong and earned the honour of hosting him next.

KS1 have been busy learning all about plants and seeds in science. Today, they made predictions about which of their seeds will sprout first — avocado, tomato, pepper or apple!

Our fair tests are all set up and we can’t wait to see what pops up first!

This award acknowledges all that we do to help children understand about their place in the wider world and follows over a year of hard work to further refine and develop our personal development programme. We were recognised by the assessor for our work on fairness and equity, caring for our planet, addressing global issues (such as education, health and poverty) and helping children to make a positive difference both locally and globally. 

We would like to say a huge thank you to Mrs Phillips for all of her hard work in championing our application but to the wider staff team, pupils and their families for their ongoing support of everything we do. Captain Aspiration is really proud! 

Last Term, the Upper Juniors learnt all about the Magi and the role that they played in the Nativity story. The gifts that they brought to celebrate Jesus' birth gave clues as to what his future held. Here is some artwork from Team Wilverley showing what they think the Magi may have looked like. What creativity!

There was lots of resilience on show as the children tried new techniques, adjusted their designs and kept going even when things didn’t turn out exactly as planned. Most importantly, they had great fun expressing themselves and being creative!
