You may have noticed some exciting signs around our school this week…

This week KS1 and KS2 pupils took part in the final stage of our School Council elections, using real voting booths kindly hired from NFDC to cast their votes.

The children have been learning about the importance of having a voice, making choices and taking part in the democratic process. Using the voting booths made the experience feel even more authentic and helped our pupils understand how elections work in our wider community.

This is a wonderful opportunity to develop one of the Fundamental British Values- Democracy, while encouraging our children to understand that their opinions matter and that everyone has the opportunity to have their voice heard.

A huge well done to all of our candidates for putting themselves forward, to every pupil who took part and cast their vote and to our super ‘Voting Officials’ Year 6 for their help! Captain Risk-Taker and Captain Aspiration are very proud!
