Our Year R children have absolutely loved caring for our little allotment bed this term. From watering the plants and checking on their progress each day to learning how to care for growing vegetables, they have shown such enthusiasm, patience and responsibility.

Today was a very exciting day as we harvested our first crop of peas! The children carefully picked the pods, shelled the peas and, best of all, enjoyed tasting the fruits of their hard work. There were lots of smiles as they discovered just how delicious freshly picked peas can be! 

Our gardening journey isn't over yet... we're still eagerly waiting for our tomatoes to ripen  and our cucumber to grow just a little bigger  before they're ready to harvest.

We're so proud of our little gardeners and can't wait to see what we'll be picking next!
