PATCH Mufti Day - Friday 4th July*

(*please note, change of date!)

All children are invited to attend an additional mufti day wearing either their own clothes or school uniform, depending on what they would prefer.

In substitute of a monetary donation, we kindly ask families to chocolate or sweets which will be used in the Summer fair chocolate tombola!

New Playground Play Equipment Reminder

The children have been very excited watching the new adventure playground being installed this week and we know that they all can't wait to try it out!

Please can we take this opportunity to remind parents that ALL of the outdoor play equipment is ONLY to be used by the children during school hours and when under the supervision of school staff. The equipment should not be used before or after school.

A big thank you to Team Patch for their tireless fundraising efforts to get this equipment replaced and to our families for supporting the events throughout the year. These wonderful extras really do make such a difference to our school and we simply couldn't afford them from the school budget.

Last day of Term - Tuesday 22nd July - 1pm Finish

A reminder that school will finish at 1pm on last day of term, Tuesday 22nd July.

Den will be open until 5pm and this can be booked via Scopay.

Polite Notice - Waiting Outside the Front of School

Please can we kindly ask families to respect the front of the school grounds when waiting outside the gate.

We have received a number of complaints of children running around between families in the front of school and on the road, playing rough, as well as jumping/kicking the fences/walls. This is not the behaviour we expect to see of our children and they know that type of behaviour is not allowed in school.

Please may we also ask that children do not walk/play in the flower beds. This is a Health and Safety risk, as well as causing significant damage to the flowers/bushes.

Save the Date - Year 1 - Y6 Learning Reviews

Learning Reviews for Years 1- 6 will take place virtually again this term, between Tuesday 1st July and Friday 18th July. Please see the below schedule for class specific dates/times.

We will once again be using SchoolCloud which acts as a platform for hosting our online virtual Learning Reviews. This allows you to choose your own appointment times with teachers and you will receive an email confirming your appointments - please do keep a note of your appointment time but should this be misplaced, you will receive a reminder notification on the day.

Bookings will be open today, Friday 13th June at 5:00pm, until Wednesday 25th June at 12pm, when the system will close.

As learning reviews are in place to benefit your child(ren)'s learning, we strongly encourage parents/guardians to book a learning review.

Please click here to access the booking system to book your child's appointment.

WILVERLEY PARENTS

Please note that specific times and dates for appointments with Miss Dawson have been specified for Year 5 and Year 6 separately. Please ensure that you book the correct day for your child. Any bookings made for the incorrect day will be moved and you may lose your preferred time slot. This is so that Year 6 parents have the chance to review and discuss SATs results.

*****

Please note, the system will only allow you to book one appointment per child. If you wish to invite one additional parent to join the meeting virtually, you may do so by following these instructions. We highly recommend reading the instructions and watching the short video guide, so you know how to use the system and to familiarise yourselves with what will happen on the day.

For split families, if you are having problems booking an appointment, please email Miss Blatch in the office (lauren.blatch@hordleprimary.co.uk) who can assist further.

Additional Info:

- Timeslots on the day are managed automatically by the SchoolCloud system and are therefore strictly limited to your allotted time.

- At the end of your Learning Review the session will automatically end, this cannot be manually overridden.

- Please ensure that you log in giving yourself time to test your camera and audio so that you have the maximum time with your child's teacher.

- Bookings are made via Schoolcloud. You will receive a booking confirmation, as well as a subsequent, on the day reminder from Schoolcloud directly.

- Please make a note of your child's date/time as we are very restricted with appointment availability, should you miss your review.

Important Reminder - Road Closure

Please be aware that due to the ongoing construction of the Everton Road housing development, the section of Everton Road which is currently closed is expected to be ongoing until Sunday 13th July. Please be mindful that this means that Everton Road will be closed for the majority of Summer term. Please click HERE for further information.

Furthermore, as per the recent email sent to families, Winchester County Council have advised us that parents, school staff and members of the community should not be moving any of the road signs that are currently in place advising of road closures and diversions. To do so would mean that the person moving them would be personally liable should an accident or incident occur.

Should you have any concerns or queries regarding the current road closures, please direct these to National Highways.

Thank you for helping us keep our families and local community safe.

Sora - Free Audiobooks Resource

Hordle Primary School is pleased to inform you that all pupils have access to Sora,
a virtual library where they can borrow eBooks, audiobooks, comics and
magazines to read and listen to at home or at school.

Clean Air Challenge - Monday 16th June - Friday 20th June

We are taking part in The Clean Air Challenge this term!

By walking, wheeling, scooting or cycling during the challenge week and by joining in with our active travel event / initiative, you’ll be helping to improve air quality and create a healthier environment for everyone. The school will also be in with a chance of winning an air quality kit, scooter gear or a gardening set!

https://myjourneyhampshire.com/cleanairchallenge

We are also inviting you to have some fun by adding bling to your bikes and sparkle your scooters! At the end of the week, pupils will have their blinged-up modes of transport judged by our Year 5 JRSO’s. They will select the best entries to win a selection of prizes.

We hope lots of our children and families will get involved and look forward to seeing your decorated modes of transport!

 ??????????

With our above message re the Everton Road closure in mind, please take extra precaution on your commutes to and from school.

We need you! National Thank a Teacher Day

These really special and very much appreciated messages then arrive on national 'Thank a Teacher Day'. From previous experience, they bring a HUGE smile to team members.
