Summer Term 1 - Week Four - Friday 15th May 2025

Parent Forum

We will be running our next Parent Forum on Wednesday 4th June at 9am in the Acorn Room.

This is an opportunity to express your views/make suggestions for our Senior Leadership Team on any matters relating to school. This could include (but is not limited to) curriculum, school activities, uniform, trips and school events.

We would love to see as many of you there as possible. In order to prepare for this event, please complete the form on the link below with your suggested topics for discussion:

Parent Forum discussion topics

Please can we ask that questions posed for discussion at the Parent Form are broad in nature and not specifically related to your child. These questions are best answered by your child's class teacher who will be happy to discuss them at a mutually convenient time. Please email them directly in the first instance.

Even if you cannot attend on the day but you wish for a particular subject to be discussed, please complete this form and give us as much information as possible.

We look forward to welcoming you.

School Uniform

Firstly, we would like to say a big 'thank you' for ensuring your children's uniform and personal items are named - on Tuesday after school, Team Office were able to reunite 25 items of lost property with their families! Unfortunately, there remains lots of lost property which is unnamed, including non-uniform items from recent own clothes days and coats. Please ensure you have a look for any missing items as any unclaimed items will be disposed of next week.

School uniform expectations

Please make sure your child arrives ready for the school day dressed in the full school uniform, unless it’s their PE day or they attend a Hub Club - they should then be wearing their Hordle PE kit.

Please ensure all uniform is clearly labelled so that we can ensure that we can return it to the rightful owner should it be misplaced.

Full details on school uniform expectations can be found on our website HERE.

Thank you for your ongoing support with this.

Late Collections

We continue to see an increase in late collections from school which are becoming increasingly tricky to manage as staff run clubs and attend meetings straight after school. If your child is collected late they will be taken to the Den.

Late collections are charged at £2.50 per 15 minutes and start at 3:25pm.

Parents will be notified in writing and advised when the late charges have been applied and asked to make a payment via late collections on Scopay.

Thank you for your understanding.

Den and Dinner Debt

Please can we ask that parents/guardians ensure that payments for dinners and any Den bookings are paid in advance.

There should be no debts run up on your accounts, which should always be kept in credit.

Thank you for your cooperation.

No Mr Ken - Thursday 22nd May and Friday 23rd May

Please be aware that Mr Ken will be absent from the crossroads crossing on Thursday 22nd afternoon and both the morning and afternoon of Friday 23rd May.

Please ensure you take extra care during this time.

Hordle Hub Clubs

A reminder that all Hordle Hub Clubs are running up until the end of this half term, with our final session being on Thursday 22nd May.

Hordle Hub Clubs will then return on our first week back in Summer 2, week commencing 2nd June - Thursday 10th July.

****

Please be reminded that there is no KS2 Zest Dance on Monday 2nd June. Instead, this 'missed' session will be running on Monday 14th July.

Walk with Wheels Week - Monday 19th - Friday 23rd May

Walk with Wheels Week takes place during National Walking Month each May to encourage pre-school children, parents, carers and staff to walk, wheel, scoot or cycle, for all or part of their journey, each day they attend their setting. The week-long initiative is designed to encourage and establish healthy habits. Travelling actively can not only help families achieve their daily level of recommended physical activity but is also shown to increase both physical and mental wellbeing. With time to talk and share quality time as a family, it is a great way to start and finish the day.

There are competitions for both our school and the children, with fantastic prizes to be won! Our school could win a balance bike with helmet, a set of children’s waterproofs or an outdoor learning kit. For the children, prizes include a scooter, a balance bike or a family day out. Both competitions are fully funded by the UK Government.

We love to see your photos - please send any pictures of you and your child participating to jessie.james@hordleprimary.co.uk.

Equality Survey

As a school we are constantly striving to do our best for all pupils and to support their parents/carers whenever possible. This includes our duty under the Equality Legislation.

To help us do better, we are consulting with all our families in an effort to identify those pupils who belong to particular religious, cultural or ethnic groups and may therefore require further adaptation to enable them to enjoy full access to school life.

Bag2School Collection - Tuesday 3rd June

We have our next PATCH Bag2School collection on Tuesday 3rd June.

Bags can be dropped off to the front school car park from midday on Monday 2nd June and no later than 9am on Tuesday 3rd June.

This is a great chance a clear out and help the PATCH team raise funds for the school by donating any unwanted, good quality items. You can find a list of what Bag 2 School collects here.

Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support!

?? Please place the bags under the provided tarpaulin to protect all clothing from the rain. This is extremely important as wet clothes will not be collected and unfortunately we will be forced to dispose of them. ??
