Charity & Citizenship

At Hordle CE Primary School and Nursery, we are proud to develop a strong sense of courageous advocacy with our pupils throughout their learning journey. We aspire for all our children to gain an understanding that they have the power to make a difference in the world; at an age-appropriate level, they learn about injustice, locally, nationally and globally, and are taught about the ways in which they can act on behalf of others. One of the ways this is achieved is through our annual work with charities.

Starting in Early Years, children are taught about a range of charities and they get the opportunity to vote for the one they would most like to support. Children then embark on a year-long journey, finding out about their charity, fundraising and becoming truly active global citizens.
